Accounts Assistant

Location: Stoke-on-Trent

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm (1-hour lunch)

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 (dependent on experience)

Our client is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their established finance team based in Stoke-on-Trent.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-respected company. The position is full-time and permanent, offering the chance to be a key part of the finance function, supporting both day-to-day operations and senior leadership. Key Responsibilities:

· Managing the sales ledger, including invoicing and payment allocation

· Performing effective credit control and maintaining accurate customer accounts

· Assisting with month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations

· Supporting the preparation and coordination of year-end audits

· Providing financial and administrative support to the Company Director

· General finance duties as required to support the wider team

Requirements:

· AAT qualified

· Previous experience in a similar accounts or finance role

· Strong understanding of credit control, reconciliations, and month-end routines

· Proficient in Excel and familiar with accounting software

· Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
