Astute Recruitment are working with a well-established organisation in South Derbyshire to recruit an Accounts Assistant on a 6-month fixed-term contract, with a strong likelihood of becoming permanent.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is proactive, enjoys being part of a team, and wants to gain broad, hands-on finance experience in a busy environment.
The Role Will Involve:
* Daily bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
* Monitoring and reporting on cashflow and daily cash position
* Processing and allocating incoming receipts
* Investigating and resolving discrepancies
* Supporting cashflow forecasting
* Assisting with month-end and balance sheet reconciliations
* Handling billing and payment queries
* Supporting wider finance tasks including AP
* Contributing to process improvements
The Ideal Candidate:
* Experience in a finance or accounts role
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Proactive attitude with a willingness to get stuck in
* A team player with a desire to learn and develop
* Confident communicator
* Good Excel skills (pivot tables and formulas beneficial)
Benefits & Hours:
* Fully office-based (South Derbyshire)
* Hours: 8:30am - 5:30pm (flexible start times/lunch)
* Salary: up to £29,000
* 25 days holiday + bank holidays
* Discretionary Christmas shutdown
