🧩 The Role

As an Advanced Practitioner, you’ll play a key role in supporting children in care, ensuring they receive consistent, high-quality support and positive outcomes.

You’ll also act as a practice lead within the team, offering guidance to less experienced social workers while managing a complex caseload.

🔍 Key Responsibilities

  * Manage a caseload of Looked After Children

  * Lead on complex cases and care planning

  * Support permanency planning, including long-term placements and adoption pathways

  * Provide mentoring and guidance to junior staff

  * Contribute to quality assurance and best practice development

  * Work closely with carers, families, and multi-agency partners

  * Attend and lead reviews, strategy meetings, and case conferences

  * Ensure accurate and timely case recording

✅ What we’re looking for

  * Qualified Social Worker

  * Significant experience within Looked After Children / Children in Care teams

  * Strong knowledge of safeguarding and care planning legislation

  * Experience supporting or mentoring other Social Workers

  * Ability to manage complex cases with confidence

  * Excellent communication and leadership skills
