Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Assistant Estimator based in Bedfordshire for one of our clients on a Temp to Perm basis. 

Summary of the Assistant Estimator role 

Salary: £25,000 - £28,000
Location: Bedfordshire

Hours: Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm

Responsibilities of the Assistant Estimator

Assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for a variety of construction projects.
Review drawings, specifications, and other project documentation 
Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotations and compare pricing.
Perform quantity take-offs using estimating software and Excel.
Maintain and update the estimating database with current rates and supplier information.
Support the Estimating Team with bid preparation and documentation.
Assist in post-tender reviews and handover to project delivery teams.
Attend internal meetings and occasional site visits as required.
Monitor industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and supplier developments. 
Requirements for a successful Assistant Estimator

Some prior experience in an estimating or construction-related role (e.g., site engineer, quantity surveying, procurement).
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general IT literacy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
