Assistant Estimator – Main Contractor

📍 Birmingham (with flexible working)
💰 £35,000 - £50,000 (DOE) + Package + Clear Progression

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a well-established, privately-owned main contractor with a strong regional presence and an impressive growth trajectory.

Due to this continued success, they are looking to appoint an Assistant Estimator to join their expanding Pre-Construction team. You don’t necessarily need to come from a traditional estimating background. The business is open to individuals from Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or other construction-related disciplines who are looking to transition into a pre-construction/estimating role.

The Role:
You’ll be supporting the Estimating team across a diverse range of projects, gaining exposure to the full tendering process while working closely with experienced senior professionals.

Key responsibilities include:

  * Assisting with the preparation of cost estimates and tender submissions

  * Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation

  * Supporting with take-offs and bill of quantities

  * Liaising with the supply chain to obtain competitive quotations

  * Helping to build up cost plans and pricing strategies

  * Contributing to value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
