Job Description

Job Title: Estimator (M&E - Small Works, PFI Contracts)
Location: Halesowen (Office-Based)
Contract Type: Part-Time / Freelance (1-2 Days per Week)
Rate: Day Rate (Negotiable, DOE)

Overview
We are a small, growing contractor delivering responsive and planned works within PFI environments, primarily across schools and hospitals. We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) background to support our small works division on a flexible, part-time basis.

Role Responsibilities

Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for M&E small works projects
Reviewing client specifications, drawings, and tender documents
Producing detailed material take-offs and labour costings
Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations
Supporting pricing submissions within PFI contract frameworks
Assisting with variations, cost planning, and value engineering where required
Maintaining up-to-date pricing data and cost benchmarksRequirements

Proven experience in estimating within M&E works (essential)
Familiarity with PFI contracts, particularly in education and healthcare settings
Strong understanding of materials, labour, and supply chain pricing
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
Proficient in estimating software and Excel
Reliable and able to work independently within a small teamWorking Arrangement

1-2 days per week (flexible)
Office-based in Halesowen or work remotely
