Role: Assistant Quality Engineer
Position: Contract 
Location: Hinkley Point C, Somerset
Duration: 12 Months Rolling
Rate: Circa £135 p/d PAYE + 36 days annual leave // Circa £180 p/d Umbrella

Job Purpose / Overview

The Assistant Quality Engineer supports the delivery of Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) activities within the Joint Design Office. The role combines technical support, reporting, and quality process assistance, helping ensure compliance with standards while developing practical quality engineering skills.

Principal Accountabilities

Support quality assurance, audit preparation, and governance activities.
Assist in coordinating internal audits and quality reviews
Carry out basic quality checks on documents to ensure consistency and completeness
Use Excel to analyse data, produce charts, and maintain dashboards and trackers.
Apply rigorous quality checks to reports, ensuring accuracy, version control, and compliance.
Coordinate the production and routing of high-level quality and performance reports.
Prepare, format, and maintain professional PowerPoint presentations for senior governance forums.Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Exposure to quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001)
Strong administrative experience in a quality, engineering, or regulated environment.
Advanced PowerPoint skills, including presenting complex information clearly.
Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, charts, and data validation.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to quality-check complex information.
Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
