Lynx Employment Services are recruiting for an experienced Assistive Technology Officer to support Adult Social Care services within Telford & Wrekin.
This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with experience in Technology Enabled Care (TEC), assistive technology, social care assessments, and safeguarding to help vulnerable adults maintain their independence, safety, and wellbeing through innovative technology solutions.
### Key Responsibilities
Carry out assessments for adults and older people with complex needs.
Recommend and implement assistive technology solutions to support independent living.
Work closely with Adult Social Care practitioners to ensure technology is considered as part of care planning.
Conduct demonstrations, installations, and ongoing support for assistive technology equipment.
Complete Mental Capacity Assessments and make Best Interest Decisions where appropriate.
Act as a decision maker where individuals lack capacity regarding Technology Enabled Care interventions.
Ensure compliance with the Mental Capacity Act, Care Act, and safeguarding legislation.
Manage a caseload effectively and maintain accurate records.
Provide advice and guidance to professionals, service users, and families regarding available technology solutions.
### Essential Requirements
Experience working within Adult Social Care, Occupational Therapy, TEC, Assistive Technology, or a related field.
Knowledge of Technology Enabled Care and assistive technology solutions.
Understanding of the Mental Capacity Act, Best Interest Decision-making, and safeguarding procedures.
Knowledge of the Care Act and its application in practice.
Experience of electronic case management systems such as CareFirst or similar.
Strong assessment, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Enhanced DBS check on the update service including Adults' and Children's Barred Lists.
### Desirable
Experience installing or demonstrating assistive technology equipment.
Previous local authority experience.
Knowledge of telecare, remote monitoring systems, and digital care solutions.
