AV Commissioning Engineer (Programming Focus)

£40,000 - £45,000 per annum 

The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced AV Commissioning Engineer with strong programming knowledge to join a well-established and growing high-end residential and commercial AV integrator.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys the technical detail of commissioning, programming, system optimisation, and client handover, working on bespoke AV and smart home installations across prestigious residential properties and commercial environments throughout London, Essex, and Kent.

You will play a key role in delivering fully integrated, reliable, and intuitive AV and control systems, working closely with installation teams, project managers, and end clients.

Key Responsibilities
- Commissioning and final configuration of high-end AV and control systems
- Programming, modifying, and fault-finding systems using:
- Crestron Home & Crestron Custom
- Control4
- Lutron Homework's
- Testing, configuring, and optimising:
- Audio distribution systems
- Video distribution (HDBaseT, AV over IP)
- Lighting control
- Integrated control systems
- Home cinema systems
- Diagnosing and resolving software and system integration issues
- Carrying out system upgrades, amendments, and refinements post-install
- Working from schematics, drawings, and scope documents
- Conducting client demonstrations and handovers, ensuring an excellent user experience
- Liaising with project managers and installation teams to ensure projects are delivered to specification
- Providing technical support during and after commissioning
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship, documentation, and customer service

Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as an AV Commissioning Engineer, AV Programmer, or Senior AV Engineer
- Hands-on programming experience or strong working knowledge of:
Crestron Home
Crestron Custom
Control4
Lutron Homework's

- Solid understanding of IP networking, including:
- Managed switches
- DHCP / Static IP addressing
- Experience commissioning high-end residential AV systems
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently and manage commissioning phases on site
- Confident communicating with clients, contractors, and internal teams
- Full UK driving licence 

Desirable (But Not Essential)
- Manufacturer certifications (Crestron, Control4, Lutron)
- Experience with home cinema calibration
- Knowledge of AV over IP solutions
- Exposure to commercial AV environments
- Experience providing remote support and system updates
