We are currently supporting an NHS client with the recruitment of a Project Accountant to play a key role in supporting the organisation's financial turnaround and recovery programme.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and analytically minded finance professional who is keen to contribute to a high-profile programme focused on financial sustainability, cost improvement delivery, and performance enhancement across the organisation.
The Opportunity
Working within the Finance team, you will provide financial support and analysis to a range of turnaround initiatives, helping to ensure the delivery, monitoring, and reporting of efficiency and improvement programmes.
You will work closely with operational and clinical stakeholders, providing robust financial insight to support decision-making and the successful delivery of financial recovery plans.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the financial management of turnaround and recovery programmes.
* Monitor, analyse, and report on Cost Improvement Programmes (CIPs) and savings schemes.
* Assist with the development of business cases and financial appraisals for service improvement initiatives.
* Produce regular financial reports, forecasts, and variance analysis.
* Track savings delivery against agreed targets and identify risks to achievement.
* Support budget holders and project leads with financial planning and performance management.
* Develop financial models and provide insightful analysis to inform decision-making.
* Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with NHS financial procedures.
* Work collaboratively with finance and operational teams to drive improvements and efficiencies.
About You
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
* Previous experience within a Management Accountant or Project Accountant role.
* Experience working within the NHS or wider public sector finance environment.
* Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.
* Experience supporting financial recovery, transformation, or turnaround programmes is highly desirable.
* A good understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
* Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
* A proactive approach with the ability to challenge and influence where appropriate.
* AAT qualified, part-qualified CCAB/CIMA, or equivalent experience.
