Behaviour Support Worker Location: Luton, Bedfordshire (LU1 / LU2 / LU3) Hours: Full-time (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 15:30) Environment: SEN Specialist Provision (KS3 & KS4) The Role: Impactful & Rewarding Are you a resilient, positive, and dedicated individual ready to support vulnerable young people? Teaching Personnel is looking for a confident Behaviour Support Worker to join a specialist provision in Luton. This is more than just a classroom role; you will be a mentor and a guide for students aged 11–16 (Key Stage 3 and 4), helping them navigate social, emotional, and academic challenges. Your goal is to foster a safe environment where students can re-integrate into mainstream education or prepare for life beyond school. Your Responsibilities Empower Learning: Work 1:1 or in small groups to drive positive academic and emotional outcomes. Plan & Collaborate: Assist teaching staff in preparing inclusive activities and developing tailored support plans. Behaviour Mentoring: Use positive reinforcement and de-escalation strategies (such as Team Teach) to manage complex behaviours effectively. Track Progress: Monitor and record student achievements, ensuring every "small win" is celebrated. Community Liaison: Act as a bridge between the school, parents, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for every pupil. Requirements Experience: Proven background working with children or young people with SEND or behavioural challenges. Qualifications: Ideally Team Teach trained (or a willingness to undergo training). Communication: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Compliance: * Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply). Right to work in the UK and minimum 3 months UK residency. Overseas criminal clearance where applicable.
