Job Description

JOB – BMS Engineer
 LOCATION – Wakefield
 TERM – Permanent
 SALARY –£35,000 to £55,000

 A leading building services and controls specialist is seeking a BMS Engineer to join their expanding engineering team. This role will involve supporting the design, installation, commissioning, and optimisation of Building Management Systems (BMS) across commercial and industrial projects.
 
The BMS Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
 • Strong electrical knowledge and understanding of control panels, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics
 • Solid experience with BMS systems (Trend, Tridium, Siemens, or similar)
 • Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating and updating system schematics
 • Exposure to 3D modelling (Revit, Navisworks, or similar) is highly advantageous
 • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and control strategies
 • Good understanding of HVAC plant and building services
 • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both on-site and office-based
 • Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or Controls
 
The BMS Engineer role will involve:
 • Assisting in the design and development of BMS control strategies
 • Producing and updating control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and schematics using AutoCAD
 • Carrying out on-site commissioning, testing, and optimisation of BMS systems
 • Working closely with project managers and other engineers to ensure successful delivery
 • Providing technical support, diagnostics, and client communication
 • Contributing to system upgrades, enhancements, and integration of new technologies
 • Ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards
