CAD Technician

Warrington (Office-based)

£28,000 – £35,000 + Training & Progression

The Opportunity

We are working with a specialist engineering consultancy delivering high-quality, buildable design solutions across the UK and internationally. With a strong reputation in structural waterproofing, roofing systems, and sustainable drainage (SuDS), this is an opportunity to join a fast-growing, technically respected business.

This is not a standard CAD role. You’ll be producing detailed construction drawings for complex, real-world engineering projects where precision and coordination are critical.

The Job

As a CAD Technician, you will work closely with senior engineers to develop coordinated drawing packages for a variety of specialist construction applications.

You’ll translate marked-up drawings, sketches, and design calculations into clear, buildable CAD outputs, contributing directly to project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Produce coordinated CAD drawing packages across multiple projects 
	
Develop detailed construction drawings including: 

GA plans, sections, and technical details 
		
Waterproofing zoning drawings 
		
Drainage layouts and invert schedules 
		
Setting out information 

Support designs for: 

Basement waterproofing (BS 8102) 
		
Podium decks and buried roofs 
		
Blue roofs and controlled drainage systems 
		
Green roofs and SuDS features 
		
Attenuation systems and geocellular tanks 

Coordinate drawings with architectural and structural information 
	
Manage drawing revisions through planning, tender, and construction stages 
	
Contribute to the development of the internal technical detail library 

The Person

HNC/HND (or equivalent) in a relevant design or engineering discipline 
	
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a CAD Technician role within construction (civil, structural, architectural, or roofing) 
	
Strong AutoCAD skills 
	
Experience producing detailed construction drawings (not just conceptual work) 
	
Ability to interpret and work from architect and engineer drawings 
	
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects 

Desirable (but not essential):

Knowledge of drainage layouts and levels 
	
Experience with Revit or Civil 3D 
	
Exposure to waterproofing, roofing, or SuDS
