Job Description

Job Title: CAD Technician 

Location: York

Salary: £29,000 - £35,000

 My client is looking for someone to undertake and produce designs, layout drawings, and detailed engineering drawings for projects as requested, ensuring all work is completed in a professional, accurate, and timely manner.

 Experience:

Previous experience within the Sheet Metal Industry
Experience of welding, fabrication, and manufactured assemblies
Strong academic background in Mathematics, English and Science
Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
Experience producing general arrangement (GA) / layout drawings for manufacturing, installation and customer approvalTechnical Requirements:

City & Guilds or equivalent Certification in AutoCAD
Layout and GA drawing production
Competence in producing: 2D layout drawings
Exploded views, BOMs, and part libraries
Proficient use of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and OutlookMain Tasks:

Produce layout drawings (GA drawings) to communicate design intent, spatial planning, installation requirements, and customer approval details
Coordination between Designer, Production, and Suppliers to ensure timely issuing of all drawing types
Visit customer sites as required to gather dimensional data and project requirements
Implement new design concepts and ensure layout drawings accurately reflect feasibility and manufacturability
Proactively chase drawing approvals and resolve queries from clients and production teams
Produce all drawings in line with project expectations, technical standards, and deadlinesBenefits:
