Job Description

A Bristol consultancy is offering a Chartered Building Surveyor the autonomy of a smaller practice, the variety of a broad client base and a clear route to more senior responsibility. The successful Chartered Building Surveyor will join an independent construction consultancy working across commercial, heritage, residential and hospitality. The practice has built its reputation through senior-level advice and repeat clients, offering the breadth of interesting work without the layers and internal competition often found in a corporate environment. The Chartered Building Surveyor Role The Chartered Building Surveyor will focus on professional services, refurbishment projects and neighbourly matters, managing instructions from initial brief through to completion. You will remain close to clients and delivery, working with colleagues across surveying, project management, cost consultancy and design where the instruction requires it. The position provides a balanced mix of project and professional work, allowing the Chartered Building Surveyor to deepen technical expertise while taking increasing ownership of clients, fees and project outcomes. Duties of the Chartered Building Surveyor to include: Lead projects from initial advice through to completion Act as Contract Administrator and Project Manager Prepare specifications, tenders and technical reports Undertake surveys, defect analysis and due diligence Manage client communication and project reporting Coordinate internal and external consultant teams Deliver dilapidations and planned maintenance advice Support fee proposals and repeat business Mentor junior staff where appropriateThe Person? The successful Chartered Building Surveyor will be technically confident, commercially aware and capable of managing clients and competing priorities with limited supervision.
