Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Chef de Partie to join a thriving kitchen operation within a prestigious country estate in Hertfordshire.

This role offers the opportunity to work across both a busy seasonal restaurant and a diverse events operation, providing excellent variety and exposure to different styles of service. The kitchen focuses on fresh, seasonal, light dishes using quality ingredients, alongside weddings, private events, and estate functions throughout the year.

This position would suit an adaptable and ambitious Chef de Partie who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is looking to further develop their skills within a progressive culinary team.

The Role

Working across both the Granary Kitchen and the estate's events division, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality food across restaurant service, weddings, private dining, and larger functions.

The successful candidate will be a quick thinker with excellent organisational skills, strong knife skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Previous experience of volume cooking is essential, alongside a passion for fresh food and seasonal ingredients.

Working hours vary throughout the week, with a mixture of daytime and evening shifts. Most shifts typically finish by 9:00pm, offering a better work-life balance than many hospitality operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Running your designated section during service.
• Preparing and cooking fresh, seasonal dishes to a consistently high standard.
• Supporting restaurant service and large-scale events operations.
• Assisting with wedding, conference, and private dining functions.
• Maintaining excellent food presentation and quality standards.
• Working efficiently under pressure during busy service periods.
• Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
• Contributing positively to a professional and collaborative kitchen team.

Key Requirements

• Previous experience as a Chef de Partie within a quality fresh food environment.
• Experience working with seasonal ingredients and modern British cuisine.
• Good volume cooking experience within busy kitchens or events operations.
• Strong knife skills and excellent food preparation techniques.
• Exceptional time management and organisational abilities.
• Adaptable approach and ability to think quickly under pressure.
• Stable and progressive career history demonstrating commitment and development.
• Passion for fresh food, quality ingredients, and continuous improvement.
