Chemical Regulatory Compliance Manager Location: Goldthorpe, South Yorkshire Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum + Performance Bonus Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm Working Pattern: Fully Office-Based Chemical Regulatory Compliance Manager – Goldthorpe, South Yorkshire Francesca's Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for an experienced Chemical Regulatory Compliance Manager on behalf of a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Goldthorpe, South Yorkshire. This Chemical Regulatory Compliance Manager opportunity is ideal for a technically minded compliance professional who wants to take ownership of regulatory affairs and environmental compliance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. As the Chemical Regulatory Compliance Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the business complies with all relevant UK chemical legislation while driving continuous improvement across compliance systems and processes. The successful Chemical Regulatory Compliance Manager will report directly to the CEO and be responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance across the site, ensuring all chemical processing, blending and packaging activities meet UK legislation, environmental requirements and industry best practice. Chemical Regulatory Compliance Manager Responsibilities As the Chemical Regulatory Compliance Manager, your key responsibilities will include: * Developing, maintaining and continuously improving COSHH compliance across the business. * Ensuring full compliance with UK REACH, GB CLP and all relevant UK chemical legislation. * Preparing, reviewing and maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS), product classifications and regulatory documentation. * Supporting environmental permit compliance and statutory reporting requirements. * Conducting compliance audits across manufacturing, production and warehouse operations. * Producing and reviewing COSHH assessments, chemical risk assessments and ensuring appropriate control measures are implemented. * Supporting ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and maintaining compliance records. * Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives across regulatory compliance processes. * Delivering compliance training, inductions and spill response awareness programmes. * Investigating compliance incidents, near misses and non-conformances using root cause analysis. * Preparing detailed compliance reports for senior management. * Liaising with regulatory authorities, auditors and external stakeholders as required. * Supporting the business in maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance and environmental performance. Chemical Regulatory Compliance Manager Requirements To be successful in this Chemical Regulatory Compliance Manager role, you will have: Previous experience working as a Chemical Regulatory Compliance Manager or within a similar chemical compliance or regulatory affairs position. Proven experience preparing and maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Strong working knowledge of GB CLP/GHS hazard classification. Practical understanding of UK REACH legislation. Experience producing COSHH assessments and chemical risk assessments. Previous experience interpreting and applying chemical legislation within a manufacturing or regulated environment. Experience conducting investigations and implementing corrective and preventative actions. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical and regulatory information clearly. Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail. The ability to work independently, prioritise workloads and manage multiple projects effectively. Desirable Qualifications & Experience The ideal Chemical Regulatory Compliance Manager will also have: Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline. NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification. Experience using SDS authoring software. Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Management Systems. Internal Auditor qualification. Experience with Environment Agency permitting. Knowledge of UFI and Poison Centre Notification (PCN) submissions.
