Overview:
An exceptional opportunity to register and lead two newly established 3-bed children’s home from registration to inception. You will have full autonomy, strategic support, and the ability to create a safe, warm, and empowering space where young people can heal, grow, and thrive.
As we prepare for Ofsted registration, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead our home into its next chapter — from pre-registration to full occupancy and beyond.
Your Role as Registered Manager:
As our Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the full operational and regulatory leadership of the homes. With support from a exceptional Responsible Individual. You’ll recruit and shape a positive culture, inspire your team, ensure safeguarding is paramount, and drive high standards in line with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Ofsted's Quality Standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Culture
* Provide clear, compassionate leadership rooted in therapeutic values.
* Recruit, induct, supervise, and mentor your team to deliver consistent, child-centred care.
* Foster a reflective, high-performing culture aligned with the PACE model.
Child-Centred Practice & Safeguarding
* Ensure all children feel safe, valued, and supported at every stage of their journey.
* Oversee individualised care planning and risk assessments tailored to each young person's needs.
* Respond to safeguarding concerns with urgency, professionalism, and empathy.
Regulatory & Quality Assurance
* Lead the Ofsted registration process and ensure continued regulatory compliance.
* Maintain detailed records, audits, and reports to evidence outstanding practice.
* Prepare for and manage Ofsted inspections, addressing recommendations promptly.
Multi-Agency Working & Partnerships
* Build and maintain strong relationships with social workers, schools, CAMHS, and other professionals.
* Represent Taurus Homes in external meetings and forums with integrity and purpose.
* Advocate for every child in your care, ensuring their voice is central to decision-making.
Continuous Improvement
* Monitor outcomes and implement strategies for ongoing development across the home.
* Embed a culture of learning, feedback, and staff development.
* Ensure children’s rights, diversity, and inclusion are respected at all times.
What you will bring
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or working towards
* Previous experience holding Ofsted registration in a children’s home or previous experience as a Deputy Manager in a childrens home.
* Minimum 2 years experience as a registered manager/deputy manager of a Good/Outstanding Children's Residential Home
* Strong knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and SCCIF
* Calm, clear leadership with excellent judgement and communication
* A business minded approach to safe growth, resourcing and rota planning
* Full UK manual driving licence
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the daily operations of the children's care facility, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
* Develop, implement, and oversee individual care plans tailored to each child's needs.
* Supervise and support staff members, providing guidance and training to ensure high standards of care.
* Foster a safe and nurturing environment for children, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
* Collaborate with families and external agencies to coordinate services and support for children.
* Administer medications as required, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and participate in regular assessments of children's progress.
* Stay informed about best practices in child care management and implement necessary changes to improve service delivery.
