Job Description

We have an opening for a Civil Engineer who has a wealth of experience in Water & Utilities to join a SME design consultancy in Cardiff. This is an exciting opportunity to support the multi-billion-pound pipeline of work that is required by the UK Water Authorities during AMP 8 and beyond. You’ll be working within a dynamic team and overseen by a Senior Engineer and Principal Engineer, you will contribute to the delivery of the Civil Engineering design on a range of challenging projects across the water sector including but not limited to: New and replacement potable water mains, foul drainage including CSO remediation works, and both Sustainable Urban Drainage and conventional surface water drainage design. What’s on offer Agile/flexible working Life insurance Health care cash plan Professional institution membership fees We provide a pathway to Professional Membership Formal, external training courses Regular in-house peer-to-peer training sessions and regular external lunchtime CPD sessions Social benefits What you need to succeed 3+ years’ experience in the Water Industry with potable, surface, and foul water design and/or construction Civil Engineering degree and preferably a Masters Have measurable progression with or be willing to work towards Professional Qualification with the Institution of Civil Engineers or Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management To have experience in 3D design and modelling using software such as MicroDrainage and/or InfoDrainage & Water Authority statutory approval processes such as S104, S106 etc To have experience / an understanding on SuDS Approval Body involvement. Ability to manage concurrent projects ensuring prioritisation of tasks and deliverables to ensure effective delivery Ability to work using own initiative and demonstrate a methodical approach Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
