Classroom Lead 
 
Prospero Teaching is looking for confident and adaptable individuals to join secondary schools across Southampton as Classroom Leads. In this role, you will guide classes during teacher absence, deliver pre-planned lesson material, and help maintain a positive and focused learning environment.

The Role: 
Lead lessons using the work already prepared by the class teacher 
Supervise classes independently and promote positive behaviour 
Support students with tasks, questions, and staying engaged 
Provide cover for a variety of subjects across KS3 and KS4 
Maintain a calm, structured, and supportive classroom atmosphere 
Follow school safeguarding and behaviour policies 

Ideal Candidate: 
Experience working with young people (youth work, coaching, tutoring, mentoring, schools) 
Confident managing a classroom and leading groups 
Clear communicator with a positive and proactive approach 
Adaptable and comfortable stepping into different subjects 
Organised, reliable, and calm under pressure 
Graduates or aspiring teachers welcomed 

Contract Details: 
Position: Classroom Lead / Cover Mentor 
Location: Southampton 
Start: ASAP 
Work Pattern: Full-time part-time or day-to-day
Pay: Up to GBP130 per day 
Age Groups: KS3 & KS4 

Experience, Training & Safeguarding: 
Experience supporting young people required 
Classroom or behaviour experience beneficial 
Safeguarding training available if needed 

Eligibility: 
Right to work in the UK 
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply) 
Two references covering experience with young people
