Clerical Assistant
Location: Sizewell B
Pay Rate: £16.88 per hour
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Clerical Assistant to provide administrative and clerical support to the Maintenance Department at Sizewell B. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of maintenance operations, including maintaining staffing levels, ordering consumables, and supporting general administrative processes.
You will report to the Maintenance Group Head and ensure that all clerical and administrative duties are completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with site requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Place and manage orders for consumables, PPE, and other required materials.
Provide general clerical support including document filing, archiving, and meeting coordination.
Upload, download, and perform basic editing of documents within the controlled document system (preferred but not essential).
Support the apprentice programme with administrative tasks.
Administer and maintain compliance for the departmental training programme.
Manage and update the corrective action programme.Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Good understanding of document control and record management (essential).
GCSEs or equivalent qualifications (including English and Mathematics).
Competent in the use of office equipment (e.g. scanners, photocopiers, printers, computers).
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to support the team beyond core duties when required.Why Apply
