Main Purpose
To set and operate CNC machinery (including Mazak), preparing materials and tooling for production. You will work from engineering drawings to produce high-precision components for the aerospace and defence industry.
Key Responsibilities
* Set and operate Mazak CNC turn/mill machines
* Change machine setups efficiently between jobs
* Read and understand CNC programs
* Use measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, etc.) to inspect parts
* Carry out in-process checks to ensure parts meet drawings and specifications
* Meet production targets while maintaining high quality standards
* Handle basic technical queries when required
* Support team members and assist with general duties as needed
* Follow company quality procedures and processes
* Report issues promptly to the Manager or Supervisor
* Follow all health and safety requirements and complete required training
* Maintain good timekeeping and punctuality
Skills & Experience
* Engineering qualification (or similar)
* 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role/industry
* Ability to use a range of measuring equipment
* Good maths and technical skills
* Problem-solving ability
* Proactive, reliable, and a strong team player
* Quick to learn and adaptable
* Excellent attention to detail
