College Office Manager Location: Wymondham Salary: SCP 23 – 28 £36,525 - £41,541 per annum Vacancy Type: Permanent, 37 hours per week, plus 24 Saturdays 08:00-12:00 52 weeks Wymondham College has over 400 staff dedicated to supporting World Class education. The College currently is one of the top State Schools in the Country and is recognised as one of the highest performing State Schools in the East of England, this is backed up by its most recent Ofsted inspections which rated the College as Outstanding in both Education and Boarding 2023. The College is focused on providing outstanding quality to their students and staff not only in education but also through its provision of exceptional facilities and accommodation on site across its 83-acre campus. The College Office sits at the heart of the College, with the team playing an essential role in the to the day-to-day operations of Wymondham College. Leading this vital team is the College Office Manager. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the College Office Manager will lead, manage and develop the Administration team, ensuring that the College Office operates as a highly effective, professional and responsive service. role requires a confident and visible leader who can influence, motivate and support staff, manage competing priorities, and work collaboratively with senior leaders, teaching staff and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping administrative practice across the College and embedding high standards of professionalism, accountability and continuous improvement. This role is ideally suited to an experienced administrator with proven leadership experience, who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is confident managing people, processes and change. Person Specification The professional competencies expected of a College Office Manager are: * The ability to communicate clearly and tactfully using appropriate methods and an awareness of the impact of your own communication on others; * Able to maintain positive relationships with all and able to work as an effective and flexible part of a team; willing to change methods of work and routines to benefit the team; * Be able to multi-task and work under pressure; * Be flexible and resilient in managing and executing their daily responsibilities; * Able to demonstrate strong planning and organisational skills; * Willingness to accept responsibility for your own actions; * The ability to prioritise effectively, meet deadlines and accept challenges; * Excellent attention to detail; * The ability to work flexibly and embrace change; * Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to provide solutions; * The ability to produce positive outcomes from difficult circumstances; * Have the inter-personal skills to influence and negotiate in discussion; * Be flexible in managing and planning daily, weekly, monthly workloads; * Have strong time management, planning and organisational skills; * Have the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times, and use tact, diplomacy and empathy where necessary; * Have the motivation to drive and to always add value; * Be committed to providing the best possible service to the staff, students and parents. The qualifications and experience required of a College Office Manager are: * A good level of literacy and numeracy; * NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in administration; * Level 3 or equivalent in Leadership and Management; * Experience leading and managing a team; * Have exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office procedures; * Experience in education would be desirable.
