Commercial Gas Engineer (Lead Engineer Opportunity)

Glasgow & Central Belt

Up to £48,000 + Overtime + On-Call Allowance + Bonus Scheme + Company Van

FM Search & Select are delighted to be partnering with an exciting and ambitious facilities management business to recruit a Commercial Gas Engineer to join their growing team.

This isn't just another Commercial Gas role.

Our client is at the very beginning of building their FM division and is looking for the right person to become a key part of that journey. They're looking for someone who wants more than day-to-day maintenance work—someone who is ambitious, enjoys taking ownership and is looking to progress into a leadership position.

You'll initially join as the Lead Commercial Gas Engineer, working closely with the senior management team while helping establish engineering standards and supporting the growth of the business. The long-term plan is for you to become the Authorised Person (Gas) and transition into a management role, with the opportunity to move off the tools within the next 12 months.

The Role

Working across commercial sites throughout Glasgow and the Central Belt, you'll carry out a mixture of planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and small remedial works while taking the lead on all gas-related activities.

As the business grows, you'll play a key role in mentoring engineers, supporting operational decisions and helping shape the future of the division.

Responsibilities

  * Carry out planned and reactive commercial gas maintenance.

  * Diagnose faults and complete repairs across commercial heating systems.

  * Complete minor installation and remedial works.

  * Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with current legislation.

  * Support the development of engineering standards and procedures.

  * Assist with mentoring and supporting other engineers.

  * Progress towards becoming the company's Gas Authorised Person (AP).

About You

We're looking for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer who is ready for the next step in their career.

You'll ideally have:

  * Current commercial ACS gas qualifications.

  * Strong fault-finding and diagnostic experience.

  * Experience working within commercial facilities maintenance.

  * Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  * A proactive attitude and aspirations to move into leadership.

  * Full UK Driving Licence.
