Job Description

Construction Manager – Residential Retrofit

We are looking for a driven and technically capable Construction Manager to support the delivery of residential retrofit and energy efficiency projects.

This role will focus on managing the delivery of domestic retrofit works across existing housing stock, including whole house retrofit, extensions and conversions. You will take ownership of projects from design through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, compliantly and to a high standard.

Projects will typically involve social housing, private rented and owner-occupied properties. Works may include fabric improvements, structural works, low carbon heating systems, ventilation and renewable technologies delivered under a whole house approach.

The Role

  * Deliver residential retrofit projects in line with PAS 2035

  * Manage projects from design coordination through to installation and handover

  * Coordinate Retrofit Coordinators, designers and PAS 2030 installers

  * Oversee programme, quality, compliance and resident liaison

  * Ensure compliance with PAS 2030, PAS 2035 and MCS standards

  * Monitor installer performance, inspections and quality checks

  * Manage snagging, defects and post-installation works

  * Maintain accurate records for audit and compliance

  * Support funding and grant requirements

  * Ensure Health & Safety compliance across sites

  * Produce regular project and progress reports

Skills & Experience

  * Proven experience delivering residential retrofit or energy efficiency projects

  * Strong understanding of PAS 2035 and working with PAS 2030 installers

  * Experience working in occupied properties

  * Knowledge of retrofit quality assurance and compliance

  * Familiarity with low carbon technologies and fabric first approaches

  * Full UK driving licence

Technical Knowledge (Desirable)

  * Insulation (loft, cavity and solid wall)

  * Ventilation systems (MEV / MVHR)

  * Heat pumps (air source / air-to-air)

  * Solar PV and battery storage

  * Domestic electrical and heating upgrades

Construction Background

Understanding of core trades such as:

Bricklaying

Joinery

Groundworks

Roofing

Plastering

Kitchen and bathroom installations

Package
