Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee the successful delivery of Civils & Highways projects, managing site teams, subcontractors, clients and commercial performance from pre-construction through to completion.

Immediate start available

Office based in Rochdale (hybrid)

Salary starting from £75,000 per annum (negotiable)

£5,000 car allowance

Key Responsibilities:

  * Manage multiple Civils and Groundworks projects from start to finish.

  * Lead and support Site Managers and project teams.

  * Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, to budget and to the required quality standards.

  * Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders.

  * Monitor project programmes, costs, performance and contractual obligations.

  * Conduct regular site visits and ensure compliance with H&S and company procedures.

  * Identify and manage project risks, issues and opportunities.

  * Support pre-construction, tendering and project planning activities.

  * Manage subcontractors and supply chain partners effectively.

  * Provide regular project updates and reports to senior management.

  * Drive continuous improvement across project delivery.

Person Specification

  * Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within Civils/Groundworks/Highways

  * Strong technical and commercial understanding.

  * Experience managing multiple projects and site teams.

  * Strong leadership, communication and client management skills.

  * Good knowledge of H&S, contractual requirements and project delivery.

  * Highly organised, proactive and commercially aware.

  * IT proficient, including Microsoft Office and Project or similar.
