Sue Ross Recruitment are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Property Lawyer to join our clients dynamic Conveyancing Department. You will manage your own caseload of residential sale and purchase matters, ensuring all transactions progress efficiently and in line with business KPIs, SLAs, and individual performance targets.
While primarily based within the Conveyancing Department, you may occasionally support other areas of the business as required, offering variety and opportunities to grow your experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a varied caseload of residential sale and purchase matters, using an assistant where appropriate.
* Progress all matters efficiently, meeting strict deadlines and achieving KPIs and SLAs.
* Meet individual performance targets, including monthly completion goals.
* Communicate professionally with clients by phone, email, and in-person, delivering outstanding customer service at all times.
* Liaise with solicitors, estate agents, lenders, and other third parties via email, telephone, and written correspondence.
* Keep referrers, panel members, and internal/external stakeholders updated throughout each transaction.
* Work effectively within referrer SLAs and panel requirements.
* Use the firm’s bespoke case management system in accordance with internal processes and protocols.
* Attend regular training sessions, 121 meetings, performance reviews, and team meetings.
* Act as a role model to colleagues in conduct, file management, and professional behaviours.
* Undertake additional duties as required by the Head of Conveyancing or Senior Management Team.
Person Specification
Experience & Competencies
* Minimum 1 year’s experience in a conveyancing fee earner role (all levels, including senior, will be considered).
* Proven ability to manage deadlines, caseloads, and fast-paced workloads.
* Demonstrated success in achieving individual targets and meeting business KPIs and SLAs.
* Able to work independently using sound judgement and initiative.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask and adapt quickly.
* Exceptional communication skills and a strong commitment to client care.
* High attention to detail with the ability to problem-solve creatively.
* A modern, process-driven, proactive approach to conveyancing.
* Competent user of Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365 applications.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficient IT skills including Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, Teams), keyboard proficiency, and email management.
* Previous experience using Case Management Systems, the Land Registry Portal, Online SDLT platforms, and panel management websites.
* Strong technical understanding of conveyancing processes and regulatory obligations.
* Comprehensive knowledge and compliance with AML regulations, CQS requirements, and SRA rules.
