Job Description
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a number of secondary schools across Hastings and the wider East Sussex area and is currently seeking reliable and confident Cover Supervisors to support schools on a short-term, long-term, or flexible basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are interested in gaining experience within education, including graduates, aspiring teachers, or those with previous experience working with young people.
The Role:
Supervising classes during the short-term absence of the class teacher
Delivering pre-prepared lesson plans and ensuring students remain on task
Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
Providing support to students where appropriate and maintaining a positive learning environment
Reporting back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour
Working across a range of subjects at Key Stages 3 and 4
Essential Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people (education, youth work, coaching, or similar settings)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Confidence managing a classroom and engaging with students
A flexible, professional, and proactive approach
An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
