We are seeking a confident, adaptable, and enthusiastic Cover Teacher to join a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Northampton. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher, ECT, or experienced cover supervisor looking to make a positive impact across a range of subjects and year groups.

As a Cover Teacher, you will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of learning by delivering pre-planned lessons during teacher absences and ensuring students remain engaged, challenged, and supported throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a variety of subjects.
Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
Ensure students remain focused and engaged in their learning.
Support student progress by providing clear instructions and guidance.
Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, behaviour, and lesson outcomes.
Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Experience as a Cover supervisor or managing a classroom.
Strong classroom management skills.
The ability to teach confidently across a range of subjects.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A flexible and proactive approach to work.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
Experience working within a secondary school setting (desirable but not essential).
