Job Description

Axon Moore is delighted to be recruiting for a Credit Controller position within a growing business based in Rochdale. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a close knit and supportive finance team in a broad, hands-on role with a strong focus on credit control and exposure to wider finance duties. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys managing a high-volume, international ledger, building relationships, and playing a key role in cash collection. 

This role will be around 80% credit control, the rest of the time you will be supporting the team on day to day finance tasks, providing occasional support for purchase ledger.

 Location: Rochdale
 Salary: £28,000 – £30,000
Hours: 35 Hour Week

Main duties:
• Manage and reduce aged debt across a high-volume ledger
 • Handle a large proportion of international accounts, building strong customer relationships
 • Chase outstanding payments via telephone and email
 • Maintain and update the sales ledger
 • Monitor customer credit exposure and manage risk effectively
 • Carry out credit checks and manage new account setups
 • Work closely with sales and customer service teams to resolve queries
 • Place accounts/orders on hold where necessary
 • Support with cash allocation and reconciliations
 • Assist with month-end tasks
 • Provide cover for purchase ledger and cashbooks when required

Person specification:
• Strong experience in Credit Control
 • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
 • Proactive and able to hit the ground running
 • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
 • A team player with a hands-on, flexible approach
