Spire Nottingham Hospital has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Critical Care Manager to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Critical Care nurse who is ready to take the next step in their leadership career, with responsibility for leading our Critical Care Unit and developing a team committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
What you'll be doing
As Critical Care Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Critical Care Unit, providing strong clinical leadership and ensuring we continue to deliver safe, effective and compassionate care.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Leading, supporting and developing the Critical Care team, acting as a visible and approachable clinical leader.
Managing staffing, rotas and workforce planning to ensure safe staffing levels, appropriate skill mix and service capacity.
Maintaining high standards of clinical care, patient safety and infection prevention and control.
Supporting the education, training and competency development of Critical Care and wider clinical teams.
Providing Critical Care Outreach support to other areas of the hospital when required, including supporting the safe step-down of patients to the ward environment.
Working closely with the Director and Deputy Director of Clinical Services and wider senior leadership team to develop and improve the service.
Participating in the Hospital Resuscitation Team and the hospital Duty Manager and Senior On-Call rotas.Who we're looking for
We're looking for an experienced and confident Registered Nurse with a strong background in acute nursing and Critical Care/HDU, who is ready to take responsibility for leading a clinical team.
You'll need:
Current NMC registration and a recognised Critical Care post-registration qualification.
Significant experience working within an acute hospital Critical Care/HDU environment.
Previous experience in a senior Registered Nurse or equivalent leadership position.
Experience of leading, mentoring and developing clinical teams.
Experience of workforce planning and clinical rostering.
ALS and CALS training.
A relevant nursing degree or equivalent, alongside evidence of ongoing clinical and leadership development.A qualification in clinical education, post-graduate leadership qualification or Masters-level study would be desirable.
Most importantly, you'll be a strong clinical leader who can inspire and develop your team, make sound decisions in a busy environment and remain focused on delivering an excellent patient experience.
