Job Description

Depot General Manager
 
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 (DOE)
 Bonus: Performance Related - Up to 30% of annual salary
 Hours: 45 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 7:30am–5:00pm)
 Contract: Permanent (following 6-month probation)
 Location: Woking, Surrey

 Holt Recruitment are working exclusively with a long-established, secure, and highly reputable family-run Plant Hire group to recruit a Depot General Manager for their busy Woking depot. This is a key leadership role within a well-supported business that prides itself on strong customer service, a modern fleet, and a stable national depot network. With continued growth and investment across the group, this position offers long-term security and the opportunity to make a significant impact.

Overview of Responsibilities
Lead and manage all operational activities within the depot
Oversee servicing, repairs, logistics, and equipment delivery
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Maintain high customer service standards and strong client relationships
Plan and control budgets, operational efficiency, and depot performance
Support and develop the depot team across all functions
Work collaboratively with national sales and operational teams to drive growthRequired Experience and Skills
Proven depot or operational management experience within the Plant Hire industry
Strong technical understanding of plant equipment and machinery
Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a multidisciplinary team
Sound knowledge of logistics, scheduling, and depot operations
Strong customer service skills with a commercial mindset
Competent in budgeting, forecasting, and depot performance management
Familiarity with hire management systems and relevant IT tools
Ability to work under pressure, solve problems quickly, and adapt to business needsBenefits Package
