Job Description

Our client, ranked by The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, is seeking an experienced criminal law solicitor (minimum 3 years’ PQE as Deputy Head of the Leeds Office.  This senior role supports the Head of Office in managing the team, supervising casework, and maintaining high standards of client care and compliance.

 Key responsibilities for Deputy Head of Crime role:

Support the Head of the Leeds Office in managing and supervising the Leeds Crime team.
Help allocate and manage workloads to ensure cases progress efficiently.
Review files regularly to ensure compliance with LAA requirements, SRA standards, and firm policies.
Provide practical casework support and guidance, including on complex or sensitive matters.
Mentor and support junior staff, including paralegals, trainees, and newly qualified solicitors.
Assist with team training and development.
Support quality assurance through performance monitoring and addressing skills gaps.
Assist with compliance tasks such as billing, file management, and case closure.
Act as a senior point of contact when the Head of the Leeds Office is absent.Benefits for this Deputy Head of Crime opportunity:
