Our client, a specialist in the water sector, is currently seeking a Design Manager with expertise in civil engineering to join their dynamic team on a contract basis. This role is based in Manchester and offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining office presence with remote working. This is an initial 12-month contract with the possibility of an extension, operating inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing the design process for wastewater infrastructure projects, including combined sewer overflows (CSOs) and pipelines
Coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring project requirements are met efficiently and effectively
Conducting design reviews and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations
Overseeing the preparation and delivery of technical documentation and design packages
Ensuring project timelines and budgets are adhered to throughout the design phase
Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers and design teams
Collaborating with clients to ensure the successful delivery of project objectives
Job Requirements:
Significant experience in civil engineering, particularly within the water sector
Proven ability to manage complex design projects from concept to completion
Strong knowledge of wastewater infrastructure, including CSOs and pipelines
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations
Excellent organisational and project management skills
Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering
