Job Title: Design Requirements Lead
Location: Warwick 1-2 days on site
Contract Type: 6 months - possibility for extension
Purpose of the Role
The Design Requirements Lead will lead the definition, documentation and management of business benefits, occupant/user requirements and operational needs for the design and construction of a new facility.
This role ensures that organisational requirements, scope, operational needs and constraints are clearly defined, owned and controlled throughout the design process. The role acts as the key interface between internal stakeholders and the external design team to ensure all parties remain aligned to a single, efficient design baseline.
Key Responsibilities
Scope and Requirements Ownership
Own and maintain the requirements baseline for the project.
Ensure scope aligns with business objectives, operational needs and compliance requirements.
Maintain clear requirements traceability throughout the design process.
Challenge and refine requirements where necessary to ensure clarity, efficiency and alignment with project outcomes.Facilitation of the Design Process
Lead and facilitate requirements gathering with internal subject matter experts and the external design consultant.
Coordinate stakeholder input to ensure operational, technical and user needs are captured effectively.
Plan, chair and facilitate design workshops, reviews and decision-making forums.
Ensure design discussions are structured and that outcomes are clearly documented.Design Governance and Assurance
Support the design change control process, ensuring coordinated input from relevant teams.
Ensure all design changes follow the agreed governance and approval pathway.
Maintain and protect the approved design baseline.
Ensure the design remains aligned with operational, safety, security and compliance requirements.
Skills and Experience
Core
Demonstrated ability to facilitate complex, multi-stakeholder design processes.
Strong understanding of translating user and operational needs into clear requirements.
Proven experience managing requirements baselines, scope definition and change control.
Excellent communication, facilitation and documentation skills.Desirable
Experience working in a client-side design role on buildings, infrastructure or operational facilities.
Experience supporting the design of secure, critical or operational environments.
Familiarity with RIBA design stages.
Experience working within major infrastructure or utilities environments.Apply now!
