Educational Psychologist - About the role
This is a hybrid position covering Greater Manchester and Merseyside, offering flexibility alongside creating an impact, hands-on work. You will play a key role in assessing and supporting children with a wide range of educational and developmental needs.
The role involves close collaboration with schools, families, local authorities, and multi-agency teams. You will contribute to the development of interventions, delivery of training, and creation of inclusive policies and practices. Depending on your experience, there is also the opportunity to oversee Assistant Educational Psychologists.
You will be joining a well-established team including senior leadership, Assistant Educational Psychologists, an SI Occupational Therapist, administrative staff, and close links with a specialist therapeutic education service.
Key Responsibilities of Educational Psychologist
Conduct psychological assessments for children and young people
Develop and implement tailored interventions and strategies
Work collaboratively with schools, families, and multi-agency professionals
Deliver training and guidance to educational staff
Contribute to policy development and inclusive practice frameworks
Support positive outcomes for children across a range of needs
(Optional) Supervise and support Assistant Educational Psychologists
Please apply if you have:
Postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology
HCPC registration (or equivalent professional registration)
Strong experience in assessment and intervention within educational settings
Knowledge of SEND, mental health, and education frameworks
Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
