About the Role
We’re looking for a talented and proactive Electrical Engineer to join our Telford-based manufacturing team. This hands-on role involves wiring, assembling, and commissioning electrical systems, fixtures, and tooling used within robotic and automated assembly lines for the automotive industry.
You’ll be responsible for electrical integration, validation, and ensuring that all systems meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys practical work, technical challenges, and supporting innovative automation projects from build to installation.
Key Responsibilities
* Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
* Perform machine wiring, panel building, and sensor setup on automated systems.
* Conduct power-on, debug, and validation of electrical systems.
* Manage redlining and revision control of documentation.
* Own and maintain all panel and cell safety sign-off documentation.
* Create and maintain Product Bills of Materials (BOMs).
* Act as a technical escalation point, solving electrical issues on-site and at customer locations.
* Operate standard workshop tools and electrical test equipment (e.g. megger, crimpers, soldering iron, bender).
* Support and train Electrical Apprentices.
* Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and company standards.
* Support site wiring and maintenance activities when required.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential
* Recognised City & Guilds Electrical Installation qualification (or equivalent).
* Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification hands-on electrical experience.
* Strong understanding of electrical schematics and machine wiring.
* Experience working with automated or robotic production lines.
* Confident using a range of hand and power tools.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to electrical safety.
Desirable
* Experience in automotive tooling, robotic integration, or Tier 1 manufacturing.
* Supervisory or mentoring experience.
* Ability to train and develop others.

* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Self-driven with a proactive “can-do” attitude.
* Comfortable working under pressure to meet deadlines.
* Willingness to travel within the UK and Europe for installation and commissioning work.

Work Environment
You’ll be working in a modern manufacturing environment, occasionally exposed to heat, noise, or dust. Full PPE and safety training are provided.
