About the Role of Electrical Installation Engineer
Based from our Chippenham office, you'll travel to customer sites throughout Wiltshire and across the UK, with approximately 25–35% overnight stays.
You'll be responsible for installing, commissioning, testing and maintaining a range of electrical and energy-saving systems for commercial and industrial clients, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities of the Electrical Installation Engineer
● Install, modify, test and commission:
● Energy monitoring systems
● Sensors and actuators
● Three-phase motors, pumps and VSDs/VFDs
● Solar PV systems
● Battery storage systems
● Carry out inspection and testing in accordance with BS7671 (18th Edition).
● Program and commission energy-saving equipment.
● Diagnose and resolve faults on electrical systems, motors and drives.
● Interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
● Complete site risk assessments and commissioning documentation.
● Work independently or lead small installation teams.
● Support junior engineers where required.
● Liaise with Project Managers and customers to ensure projects are delivered safely and on time.
● Maintain high standards of health, safety and compliance.
Requirements of the of Electrical Installation Engineer
Essential
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrotechnical Installation.
*
AM2 qualification.
*
City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) Inspection & Testing.
*
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
*
Valid ECS Gold Card.
*
Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial and industrial electrical installations.
*
At least 2 years' experience installing and commissioning VSDs/VFDs.
*
Strong knowledge of three-phase systems, motors, control equipment and energy-saving technologies.
*
Full UK driving licence (maximum six penalty points).
*
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*
Willingness to travel throughout the UK, including overnight stays.
Desirable
*
IPAF certification.
*
PASMA certification.
*
Solar PV installation and commissioning experience.
*
Battery storage installation experience.
*
Asbestos Awareness training.
*
Experience delivering energy efficiency or energy reduction projects.
