Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Stoke - on - Trent
Salary: £42,000 - £44,000
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off rotational shift (No nights) 40 hours per week
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our maintenance team within a demanding heavy industrial environment. This role is key to ensuring that all electrical systems and production equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. You'll work as part of a multi-skilled engineering team maintaining high-value, large-scale plant machinery and supporting production uptime.
Shift Details
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off rotational shift (no nights)
Hours: 40 hours per week average
Shift 1: Monday - Friday, 06:00 - 16:00
If the shift falls on a Saturday or Sunday, it will be a 10-hour shift starting at 06:00, 07:00, or 08:00
Shift 2: Monday - Friday, 12:00 - 22:00
If the shift falls on a Saturday or Sunday, it will be a 10-hour shift starting at 06:00, 07:00, or 08:00
Key Responsibilities
Conduct planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on heavy industrial plant and equipment.
Diagnose and rectify electrical faults safely and efficiently to minimise downtime.
Work on motors, drives, control panels, conveyors, and high-voltage distribution systems.
Support continuous improvement, reliability, and plant upgrade projects.
Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Collaborate closely with mechanical and process engineers to maintain optimal plant performance.
Skills and Experience Required
Time-served Electrical Engineer or equivalent qualification (NVQ Level 3 / HNC / ONC).
Proven experience in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, or process plant environment.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills on electrical and control systems.
Knowledge of PLCs, variable speed drives, and instrumentation (desirable).
Sound understanding of industrial safety standards and permit-to-work systems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional engineering team.
