Job Description

Electrical Qualified Supervisor (Technical / Compliance Focus)

Chelmsford, Essex | Social Housing
 Temporary (2-3 months) | 37 hrs per week (8:00am-5:30pm)
 60% Office‑based / 40% Site‑based

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Qualified Supervisor to support a Housing Association in Chelmsford on a short‑term temporary basis. This is a technical, compliance‑driven role, focused on inspection, certification, and quality assurance of electrical works across the housing stock.

The position will suit a technically strong electrician with proven experience completing and signing off EICRs, ensuring works meet current regulations and social housing compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the Electrical Qualified Supervisor in line with NICEIC / NAPIT requirements
Technically review, inspect, and certify electrical works
Complete, review, and authorise EICRs across occupied and void properties
Carry out technical site inspections and quality assurance checks
Ensure compliance with BS7671, electrical safety legislation, and HA policies
Identify defects, code observations, and support remedial action planning
Maintain accurate technical and compliance documentation for audit purposesEssential Requirements

NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
AM2 / AM2S
18th Edition Wiring Regulations
Inspection & Testing qualification (2391 / 2394‑2395 / 2391‑52)
NICEIC or NAPIT Qualified Supervisor status
Strong technical knowledge and hands‑on EICR experience
Full UK driving licence
DBS check requiredDesirable

Social housing or local authority experience
IOSH Managing Safely
Asbestos Awareness
Own van preferred (mileage reimbursed)
