Electronics Manufacturing Engineering Lead
Our client is seeking an experienced Electronics Manufacturing Engineering Lead to develop PCBA and product test capability, support reliable production, and lead a small team of engineers/technicians. This role suits a hands-on electronics engineer with strong leadership and project delivery skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop a small Electronics Manufacturing & Test team.
* Introduce new products, processes and automated test equipment into manufacturing.
* Design, validate and document electronic test systems and verification processes.
* Provide advanced diagnostic support and root-cause analysis.
* Support data-driven improvements across manufacturing operations.
* Work closely with engineering, quality, manufacturing teams and external suppliers.
* Contribute to DfM/DfA/DfT and ensure IPC standards are met.
* Drive continuous improvement in PCBA manufacturing and test.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Strong electronics design, measurement and fault-finding capability.
* Leadership experience within engineering/manufacturing.
* PCB/circuit design using modern CAD tools.
* Experience with SMT/PCBA/AOI equipment.
* Understanding of firmware/software and basic coding.
* Strong problem-solving skills (8D, A3, RCA).
* Excellent communication, organisation and documentation skills.
* Familiarity with ISO9001 or similar quality systems.
Desirable
* Firmware/software coding skills.
* Six Sigma/Lean experience.
* ATEX/IECEx or hazardous-area product experience.
* Knowledge of ISO45001/14001.
* 3D CAD (e.g., SolidWorks).
Qualifications
* HNC/HND/Degree in Electronics or related discipline.
