English Teacher - Secondary School, Burnley

September 2026 Start | Full-Time | Competitive Daily Rate

Vertias Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Burnley from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher who is committed to inspiring a love of English Language and Literature while helping students achieve their full potential.

The Role

Deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
Plan, prepare and assess student work in line with curriculum requirements
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
Work effectively as part of a supportive department and wider school team

The Ideal Candidate

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching English within a UK secondary school
Strong classroom management skills
Excellent subject knowledge and communication skills
A genuine passion for raising student achievement
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
