Contract: 6 months with possibility to become permanent
Hybrid - 2 days at home, 3 onsite
Location: BH2 - Civic Offices
Hours: 37 hours a week.
Pay: £25.15 per hour (Umbrella pay rate Inside IR35)
Local Authority is seeking an Environmental Health Officer to join its Facilities and Environmental Services team. The role will focus on the full case management of noise, light and odour nuisance complaints, from initial investigation through to resolution and enforcement where required.
Key Responsibilities
Manage noise, light and odour nuisance cases from complaint to resolution
Investigate complaints and gather relevant evidence
Liaise with residents, businesses, complainants and partner agencies
Assess cases against relevant legislation and enforcement procedures
Prepare clear investigation and enforcement reports
Maintain accurate case records and progress cases within appropriate timescales
Take appropriate enforcement action where required
Manage a caseload independently and provide professional environmental health adviceRequirements
Relevant Environmental Health qualification or equivalent
Experience in noise, light and/or odour nuisance investigations
Knowledge of relevant environmental health legislation and enforcement
Strong investigation, communication and report-writing skills
Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively
