Job Description

Job Title: Roofing & Cladding Estimator
Location: Wrexham (Full-time office based initially, with potential for hybrid working in the future)
Salary: £45,000 – £60,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Overview
Our client is a well-established specialist contractor within the roofing and cladding sector, delivering high-quality façade and envelope solutions across a wide range of commercial and industrial projects throughout the UK. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, our client is seeking an experienced Roofing & Cladding Estimator to join their team in Wrexham.

This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator with experience in roofing, cladding, or building envelope systems to play a key role in securing and delivering major projects while developing their career within a supportive and growing business.

Key Responsibilities

  * 

    Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for roofing, cladding, and façade packages.

  * 

    Reviewing tender documentation including drawings, specifications, and scope requirements.

  * 

    Taking off quantities from drawings and preparing detailed cost breakdowns.

  * 

    Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.

  * 

    Identifying potential risks, value engineering opportunities, and alternative solutions.

  * 

    Working closely with the commercial and technical teams to ensure tenders are delivered on time.

  * 

    Attending internal tender review meetings and supporting bid submissions.

  * 

    Maintaining and updating cost databases and supplier pricing information.

  * 

    Supporting project handovers to the delivery team once contracts are secured.

Requirements

  * 

    Previous experience as an Estimator within roofing, cladding, façades, or the wider building envelope sector.

  * 

    Strong understanding of roofing and cladding systems and associated materials.

  * 

    Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

  * 

    Excellent numerical, analytical, and commercial awareness.

  * 

    Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.

  * 

    Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.

  * 

    Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office.

Desirable

  * 

    Experience pricing large commercial or industrial roofing and cladding packages.

  * 

    Knowledge of façade systems and building envelope solutions.

  * 

    Relevant construction or quantity surveying qualification.

Working Arrangements
The role is based in Wrexham and our client’s preference is for the successful candidate to work full-time in the office initially to support integration with the team and project pipeline. There is a view to introducing hybrid working once the individual is fully established in the role.
