Family Support Practitioner (Social Work Qualified – Non-Statutory Role)
Nottingham City Council

 Work Bases:

Bulwell Family Hub
Mary Potter Centre (Hyson Green)We are recruiting for multiple Social Work–qualified professionals to join the family support teams based across Nottingham City Centre. While applicants must hold a Social Work qualification, this is not a statutory social work post. The role focuses on family visits and direct work with children and families, offering an excellent opportunity to build experience in a supportive, non-statutory environment.

 This post is particularly suitable for:

Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSWs) seeking high-quality frontline experience
Social Workers with under 3 years’ post-qualified permanent experience, including those who may not meet current DfE guidelines for locum children’s social work rolesKey Responsibilities
Undertake family visits and direct work with children and families
Build positive professional relationships with service users
Work collaboratively with partner agencies and internal teams
Maintain accurate and timely records in line with service requirementsEssential Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (Social Work degree)
Less than 3 years’ post-qualified permanent experience will be considered
Ability to work full time and travel between Nottingham city centre locationsWhat We Offer
