Field Engineer – EC&I
Location: Bridgewater, Somerset, England, United Kingdom (Hinkley Point C Site)
Salary: Up to £65,000 (DOE)
Full-time | 5 days per week on-site (potential weekends & overtime)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced EC&I Field Engineer to support construction quality surveillance on the Hinkley Point C nuclear project.
This role is critical in ensuring all electrical construction activities meet stringent quality standards, contractual requirements, and nuclear safety expectations. You will operate within a large, fast-paced site environment, playing a key role in maintaining compliance, safety, and programme delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out on-site surveillance of electrical construction activities to ensure compliance with contract specifications, drawings, and Quality Control Plans
Fulfil NEC Supervisor duties, ensuring adherence to project and quality standards
Identify, raise, and track non-conformances, quality risks, and potential issues before they impact delivery
Work collaboratively with contractors, site teams, and the Construction Superintendent to maintain safe and efficient workflows
Review and verify Quality Inspection Records (QIRs) prior to works being covered up
Ensure accurate and timely quality reporting and documentation
Promote and uphold a strong Nuclear Safety Culture across all site activitiesKey Requirements
18th Edition Wiring Regulations
City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing)
Valid CSCS and/or SMSTS certification
Proven experience in a construction/site-based engineering role, ideally within nuclear or other highly regulated environments
Strong understanding of quality assurance and control processes
Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
Minimum HND (or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering
High level of attention to detail and commitment to safety and complianceAdditional Information
