About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Zone Leader to oversee multiple production lines and Cell Leaders. This pivotal role ensures food safety, product quality, health and safety, and brand integrity across your zone. You will be instrumental in driving operational excellence and team performance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
Assign roles and provide clear instructions to team members.
Motivate and support your team to meet production targets.
Conduct performance and probationary reviews.
Lead investigations and disciplinary hearings with HR support.
Present quarterly profit improvement plans to senior management.
Operational Excellence
Monitor GMP, food safety, and health & safety standards across your area.
Resolve local issues independently and escalate when necessary.
Complete weekly food safety audits and ensure accurate documentation.
Conduct root cause analysis for machine breakdowns and liaise with engineering.
Maintain absence levels below 3%.
Continuous Improvement
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and share best practises.
Raise ideas for process enhancements and support new product launches.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve delays or equipment issues.
Key Performance Indicators
GMP score > 85%
OCE (Plan Attainment) > 95%
Accurate and timely completion of paperwork
Effective CCP checks and issue escalation
Minimised waste and giveaway levels
Compliance with food safety, quality, and health & safety standards
Required Training & Qualifications
To be signed off as a fully competent Zone Leader, you must complete the following training (provided on-site):
Food Safety Level 3
Fire Safety & Fire Marshal
GMP, Allergen & Organic Controls
Brand Integrity & Traceability
ASC/MSC Awareness
Coaching & Mentoring
BEF Leadership & Values
Language Requirement
Fluency in English (spoken, written, and reading) is essential for effective communication, documentation, and compliance.
Essential Requirement
All applicants must have experience working within food production. This is a mandatory requirement due to the nature of the role and the standards expected.
