WASTE TRANSFER CENTRE - SEPTEMBER 2026 PAID CIS*

We're Hiring: Freelance Site Engineer
Location: Preston
Sectors: Civils scheme
Day rate: £320 to £420 per day
Duration: Ongoing

We are hiring for Freelance Site Engineer's for an upcoming civils scheme on a waste transfer centre in Preston.

Key Responsibilities of a Freelance Site Engineer:

Manage and supervise day-to-day earthworks and civils activities ensuring works are completed safely and accurately in accordance to drawings and spec.
Set out and monitor cut/fill levels, formation levels, platform levels, drainage etc
Produce and maintain groundworks calculations
Setting out externals works
Work closely with the CM, PM, and SM, alongside subcontractors
Maintain accurate site recordsExperience Required for the Freelance Site Engineer:

Proven experience as a site engineer
Strong setting out experience using modern surveying equipment
Ability to read and interpret drawings
Experience working with subcontractors
CSCS, SSSTS/SMSTS, First Aid (desirable not essential), engineering qualification.Day rate/salary:

Day rate flexible
