Freelance Site Manager – Leading Main Contractor
Location: Kempston, Bedford
Pay Rate: £280–£290 per day (via CIS)
Project Value: £6M
Duration: 30 Weeks

A leading Main Contractor, specialising in industrial and commercial projects, is looking for an experienced Freelance Site Manager to join a £6M industrial new build scheme in Kempston.

This is a full new build industrial project, offering a varied and technically interesting role within a reputable contractor’s portfolio. The Site Manager will report directly to the Project Manager and will be responsible for overseeing site operations and ensuring delivery against programme, budget, and quality targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  * Manage day-to-day site operations and ensure smooth workflow

  * Coordinate subcontractors and trades on site

  * Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and compliance

  * Assist the Project Manager in progress reporting and site documentation

  * Monitor programme, risks, and site resources

Requirements:

  * Proven experience as a Site Manager on industrial or commercial projects

  * Strong knowledge of construction methods for new build industrial schemes

  * SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certification essential

  * Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
