General Worker (Mechanical)

Location: Culham, Abingdon (Full-Time On Site)
 Rate: Up to £35.00 per hour Umbrella
 Contract: Until August 2027
 Security Clearance: BPSS Required

The Role

We're looking for a hands-on General Worker with a mechanical or industrial background to support mechanical technicians and fitters on a long-term engineering programme. 
This role involves assisting with maintenance, installation, assembly and modification work, while ensuring high standards of health, safety and quality are maintained throughout.

Key Responsibilities

Support mechanical technicians and fitters with maintenance and installation activities.
Carry out general mechanical assembly and construction tasks.
Move, store and maintain tools, equipment and materials.
Keep work areas clean, organised and safe.
Assist with documentation and maintenance records.
Work to safe systems of work and method statements.
Liaise with other teams to complete tasks efficiently.

Requirements

Mechanical, industrial or engineering background.
Experience working in a manufacturing, construction, maintenance or engineering environment.
Understanding of health and safety procedures and safe systems of work.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and basic computer skills.
